Jaipur is the largest city and capital of Rajasthan. It is named after its founder Maharaja Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amer. Lovingly known as the Pink City of India, it is one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Rajasthan and India. I have traveled to Jaipur many times in my life and also have written so much about this. It is one of the best destinations to visit on Rajasthan tours not only for me but also for many others. You will fall in love with Jaipur’s magnificent forts and palaces showcasing spectacular architectural styles of Rajput era.

Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, and Nahargarh Fort are three magnificent forts that will delight you. Hawa Mahal, City Palace Complex, Govind Devji Temple, Jal Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and Albert Hall Museum are the main attractions in the city of Jaipur which will never fail to lure you. And of course, you should never miss to enjoy rickshaw ride exploring the bustling colorful local bazaars of the city.

Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan after the state capital Jaipur. Guess what? It is famously known as the Blue City of India. Another popular name of the city is Sun City because it enjoys sunny weather throughout the year. Jodhpur is also one of my favorite destinations in the state. That’s why; I am recommending you.

The majestic Mehrangarh Fort is the main attraction of the city which you should never miss to see. From the rampart of the fort complex, you will have panoramic views of blue houses nearby, especially in the evening. This will tell; why Jodhpur is known as the Blue City of India. Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswanth Thada Memorial, Balsamand Lake & Palace, and Clock Tower are other predominant attractions that will delight you significantly.

Udaipur: The White City

Most people are well aware of Udaipur’s popular nicknames like City of Lakes, City of Dawn and the Venice of East. Guess what? Udaipur is also known as the White City. Did you know this? It is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in the world. For this reason, it is also referred to as the Kashmir of Rajasthan.

I love Udaipur because of its elegant palaces and lovely lakes. There are many other attractions to see and explore in this beautiful city. My favorite is the Lake Palace which is located in the middle of Lake Pichola. A boat ride on Lake Pichola, especially during sunset, will give you a completely cheerful experience. Fateh Sagar Lake, Swaroop Sagar Lake, Rangsagar Lake, Udaisagar Lake, and Doodh Talai Lake are some other beautiful lakes in the city.

Jaisalmer: The Golden City

Jaisalmer, nicknamed “The Golden City” is a historical city and predominant tourist destination located in the middle of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan. Once known as Jaisalmer State, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The entire city lies around the massive Golden Fort also called Sonar Kila or Jaisalmer Durg. The fort complex houses several beautiful palaces, splendid havelis, and ornate Jain temples. Jaisalmer War Museum, Sam Sand Dunes, Desert National Park, Jaisalmer Fort Palace Museum, Akal Fossil Park Museum, and Jaisalmer Folklore Museum are some of the key attractions in Jaisalmer.  Although I have never visited Jaisalmer, I have heard lots about it and its heritage and beauty. Traveling to Jaisalmer is one of the wishes on my bucket travel list.

Ranthambore National Park &Tiger Reserve

I am very fond of exploring nature and wildlife. To fulfill this desire I along with visited Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan and enjoyed a lot. It has become of one of the favorite places in Rajasthan to enjoy my weekends with friends. You will too love to explore Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary and see the rich flora and fauna found in the sanctuary.

Ranthambore is best known for good population of tigers. If you are unlucky if you not have seen tigers in this sanctuary. But I find myself lucky because I spotted the tiger at Ranthambore. You can easily spot the tigers basking sun in open place. Apart from tigers you can spot animals like Indian leopards, striped hyenas, sloth bears, gray langurs, wild boars, sambars, spotted deer, nilgai, etc.

The reserve is also home to a wide variety of birds, plants and trees. The park houses one of the largest banyan trees in India. Historical Ranthambore Fort is another attraction you will see. The best way to explore the Ranthambore National Park is guided Jeep Safari rides. Rides are carried out at 6:30 and 14:30. Each ride lasts for about three hours.
