What is Post Matric Scholarship?

The State government has established a scheme for providing scholarships for students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes who are enrolled in post-matric classes in the state and outside the state. Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, there is an Establishment and Committed Expenditure and Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. It is under this scheme that scholarships are provided to deserving students who are enrolled in colleges, universities, or other institutions recognized by the government. As part of this scheme, the State Government as well as the Central Government provide funds to implement the program.

Essential Document List For Post Matric Scholarship

It is mandatory to submit the following documents valid for 2022 in order to apply for Post Matric Scholarships:

1. Aadhaar Card

2. Residential Certificate of Bihar

3. Caste Certificate Issued by Competent authority of Govt. of Bihar

4. Income Certificate

5. Fee Receipt from Institution

6. Bonafide Certificate

7. A copy of the last exam passing certificate [in the case of the last degree certificate of the first year and a copy of the course exam passing marksheet in the case of consecutive years (2nd, 3rd and 4th years etc.]

Mode of Distribution of Scholarship

The State Government/UT administrations are requested to avoid the payment of scholarship amounts by cash in order to ensure that the scholarship amounts are paid to the beneficiaries on time. It is also expected that all concerned will be instructed to ensure that the scholarship amount will be paid to beneficiaries through their post office/bank accounts in order to ensure a timely payment to the recipients. It is important that the States/UTs follow the DBT mode of payment.

It is essential that the State/UTs ensure the disbursement of scholarships via Aadhaar seeded bank accounts as soon as possible.

Post Matric Scholarship Rate

According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Government of India, the Backward Classes and Most Backward Classes, the Welfare Department of the Government of Bihar, and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of the Welfare Department of the Government of Bihar, as well as the parameters prescribed in the resolution, the guidelines will be followed. How To Apply For Bihar Post Matric Scholarship

1. It should be noted that the Bihar Post Matric Scholarship Portal is only open to BC, EBC, SC, and ST students who reside in the state of Bihar.

2. For the time being, this portal is only available for the academic year 2022-2023.

3. Applications are invited from students who are eligible as per the advertisement of the Post Matric Scholarship of the Education Department, Government of Bihar.

4. In each academic year, a student will only be eligible to receive a scholarship once.

5. There is only one application required by a student for one academic year, otherwise, his/her application will be rejected by the University.

6. Make sure that your institution is listed in the registered list of institutions before you apply.

7. In order to be able to apply, the institution must be registered on the portal first. There will be a provisional approval granted to the institution for enabling them to accept the student as a student. This can only happen after the application has been physically verified by a duly constituted committee of the government of Bihar payment will be released. 8. Make sure that the student bank account is active and that it is in the name of the student alone.

9. It is expected that applications for Post Matric Scholarships will be verified both by the institutional authorities and by a duly constituted government committee of Bihar.

10. In order to register, a student needs to provide details such as name, Aadhaar number, date of birth, mobile number, email address, etc., in order to gain access to the portal.

11. After successful registration, you will receive a text message containing a User ID and a Password to the mobile number you registered with.

12. It is strongly recommended that you do not share your User ID and Password with anyone else.

13. Obtaining a User ID and Password is the first step to logging into the portal and completing the form, then submitting the form.

14. It is mandatory for applicants to submit the following documents, which are valid for 2022, in order to apply for the Post Matric Scholarship: Mentioned above.

15. After completion of the form finally submit the application form on portal and print a copy of the application form for future reference. No Change is permissible after final submission of the form.

16. In addition to having the student’s application verified by the concerned institution, a Board of Examinations duly constituted by the Government of Bihar will also physically verify the records of the institution. In order for Post Matric Scholarships to be released to the bank accounts of students through direct bank transfer (DBT), the procedure prescribed by the Government of Bihar has to be followed.

17. In order to qualify for financial aid, students must have a family income that does not exceed the following:

    1. SC – 1, 00,000 (One Lakh)

    2. ST – 1, 00,000 (One Lakh)

    3. BC – 2, 50,000 (Two Lakh fifty thousand)

    4. EBC – 2, 50,000 (Two Lakh fifty thousand)
