Step 1:

For the first step in this guide on how to draw angel wings, we’ll start with the outline of the wings. When drawing these angel wings, try to consider them large dove wings. To start drawing, draw curved, rounded lines with pointed tips at the end to create the outline of the angel’s wings. If you’re having trouble with this step, use a pencil for now while closely following the reference image. Then you can go through it with a pen when you’re satisfied!

Step 2:

Wings always look better and more effective with some feathers, so let’s add some to your angel wing design in the next step! You can add the outlines you drew in the previous step. The feathers will curve inward on the wings, as seen in the reference image. When drawing the feathers of both wings, try to keep them as symmetrical as possible.

Step 3:

You’re already getting used to the feather part of your drawing, so we’ll continue adding more in the next step of our guide to drawing angel wings. Draw two more feathers on each wing using the curved lines you drew. There should only be a small space left at the bottom, which we will fill shortly.

Step 4:

We mentioned the space at the bottom of the wings in the previous step, and as promised, we’ll fill it in for this part of your angel wings design! Draw two more additional curved bars to count the final rows of blooms to the wings. Once you’ve plugged in all the feathers, you’re ready for the last pieces!

Step 5:

Before we get to the colours for drawing your angel wings, we have a few more details to add to the inside of the wings. Draw a curved line inside the wings, then add flourishes and curved lines below for an even softer effect. And with that, you are ready to take the next step! However, add any details you wish to your drawing before doing so. If you feel more creative, you can draw the angel’s body between the wings. Another way to personalize this drawing is to draw a beautiful background. Big puffy golden clouds could be a backdrop for your angel wings!
